Sino-Egyptian Photo Exhibition of the 7th China Shanghai International Arts Festival
At the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Sino-Egypt diplomatic relations, China Shanghai International Arts Festival will hold an "Egyptian Culture Week" during the festival with combined effort of Ministry of Culture of the Arab Republic of Egypt. As one of the eye-catchers of the "Culture Week", Sino-Egyptian Photo Exhibition will be held from November 4th to 11th. |

The Photo Exhibition, joined by distinguished local and Egyptian photographers, will consist of three themes---natural sceneries, ancient architectures and local customs. Invited by Ministry of Culture of Egypt, the Festival Center has accompanied some local photographers to take pictures of local interests in Egypt from June 17th to 23rd in 2005. In mere 7 days, our photographers have left their footprints throughout Cairo, Alexander, Luxor and Aswan. They use their eyes to discover Egypt, and their view catchers to shoot down every shred of splendor of this ancient state.
Looming behind the traffic lights of modern urban Cairo, the ancient pyramid catches people by surprise. Winding to its rear, you will be appeased by its unmatched mysticism and tranquility; As the sun sinks off Alexander, the cafes with European architectural styles draw you near to the Acadia Mediterranean in the

wind; Magnificent temple sculptures in Luxor beam gold in the sun, and interwoven gigantic stone pillars play with their shadows; In the morning and voyaging the Nile on a three-masted sailing boat, you will wonder at the utmost peace and beauty of Aswan.When Egyptian photographers use their marvelous photos to repaint the history and great achievements of their country, it is its ancient culture and modernity that our photographers, with a peculiar perspective, choose to picture down.
