    Yunnan: Maguan woodcut prints

    Picture taken on April 30, 2006 shows a multi-coloured woodcut print featuring daily life at Ae village in Maguan county of Wenshan Zhuang and Miao Autonomous Prefecture, southwest China's Yunnan Province. The village boasts an over 30-year history of woodcut painting arts. They are famous for their delicate woodcut prints depicting their unique daily life. In the year 2005, they created coloured woodcut technic, a great improvement to the old art. (Xinhua Photo)

    Shenyang: Chinese calligraphy work
     

    Photo taken on May 6, 2006 shows a huge Chinese calligraphy work of a single character "dragon", in Shenyang, capital of northeast China's Liaoning Province. The character was written on a 58-meter-long, 28-meter-wide piece of cloth by calligrapher Zhang Kesi to greet the China International Horticultural Exposition 2006 held in Shenyang.
