In
recent years more and more art expositions has been held in
China. News, advertisements try to tell us the flourish of the
art market. According to one investigation, more than half attending
artists hope they can know more people on the expo; all artists
hope to reach the long-time contracts with galleries, institutions
and brokers; at last, the artists wish to earn more money on
the show.
However, the artists who can carry out their plans are those
who have signed the contracts with some galleries in advance,
or who are spotlighted by the hosts. On one respect, those artists
can make promotions on the expo, on the other side, those contracted
galleries will come out at the suitable time to buy their works,
to maintain the price level of their works.
Another
group of artists who do not know the truth are poor. They
come to the expo full of hopes, carrying lots of works, lodging
at the cheap hotels, but the most of them will go back at
disappointment.
Art expositions are the good chances for those shrewd galleries
and brokers. They purchase the art works of those unfamed
artists in very low prices, and sell it abroad in a comparatively
high prices to make a lot profit.
Who is the last winner ? The hosts, painters or those invisible
power ?
