The Post-Mordernism in Chinese Contemporary Sculpture
The Post-Mordernism of the Contemporary Sculptures in 1990s is the main Characteristics, which distingusihes them with the sculptures from 1949 to the end of 1980s.The mordern sculptures in the first period mainly had been all about the politics until their background became international and global after 1990.Such Changes gave Chinese sculpture the real mordernism and avant-courier,in other words, make them the true contemporary sculpture.

At the end of 1990s,"Pop-art" has been adopted by yong artists, such as Liu Jianhua,Li Zhanyang,Xu Yihui. This important trend reveals the development of China's society. The cultural structure of the society came into the pluralistic period.Business,Consumption and pop-culture have provide the aristist with the new vision experiences.

The scope of colour and material has been expanded.Liu Jianhua and Xu Yihui have combined the Jingdezhen's ceramics with "Pop Art",thus give Jingdezhen, this traditional artistic form the contemporary meaning.

Another important practice of the "Post-Mordernism" is the combination of the realistic sculpture with conceptual art and pop art, this is also the trend of international contemporary art in 1990s.

The avant-garde and international cultural background of the contemporary sculpture are the two main differences as compared with the China's morden sculpture in the twentieth Century, they are also the symbol of the establishment of the conception of China's contemporary sculpture.
